Melanie comments on I, Caveman

Okay I realize I'm a little late to the party here but I just came across this blog, and I'd like to echo the question about why hunting isn't of greater interest to paleo folks? Or is it of interest and I've not picked up on it? I ask as someone who didn't learn to hunt until I was 30 (I'm now knocking on 40), so I understand how daunting it can be to start out if you are not from a hunting background. I'd like to know more about what people in the paleo community think of hunting for several reasons, but here are the first couple that spring to mind: 1) there are fewer and fewer people hunting each year, and this is actually of concern for land and wlidlife management because, among other things, conscientious hunters do a tremendous amount to support healthy ecosystems and animal populations, and 2) my impression is that the paleo crowd (at least the type of folks that post on the blogs and websites I've visited) would tend to make eithcal and decent hunters that would follow the principles of fair chase, and might be a good influence on hunting's image.
